Reuse of Waste Tires in Multiple Technology Development-Application of Rubber Powders in Road Marking

In this study, we try to add the tire powder into the road marking to replace filler, it is not only can cost down the road marking, but also improve the current shortcomings of the friction coefficient of the road marking inadequate from the tire powder. It can address the lack of friction coefficient caused by passers-slip traffic accidents. Its benefit is that if we can completely replace the rubber powder of filler, then it can increase the utilization of waste tire recycling. The second, application is simple, as long as the recovery of waste tires after the crushing process without any complicated and desulfurization steps. Third, the lower costs, the price of scrap tire rubber powder made from relatively inexpensive. And finally rubber powder can be modified into the road markings to increase the coefficient of friction and the safety of road marking. From the experimental results show that acrylic resin reacted with epoxy resins, amino compounds and hydrazine compounds was the most perfect resin. Because of the acrylic resin can provide good dispersion, the epoxy resin can enhance the mechanical strength, amine compounds can improve the hardness, and the diamide compound can reducing the curing time, resin's surface was roughness increasing dramatically its friction characteristics. Based on the above advantages, the synthesis of resin mixed with rubber powder and titanium dioxide powder can provide good dispersion, sufficient hardness, minimal curing time, high friction, but also successfully resolved the problem of carbon black, it is very promising to use for road marking line.
